When I roll up to set with the 'burb my primary cameras are the Sony Fx9 and Fx3. However, I'm no stranger to working with Arri, Red, Canon, and other Sony cameras. If you need a specific sort of camera just let us know. We can make it happen. At this point in my career it doesn't really matter what kind of camera I shoot on. That's not really what it's about. It's about composition, lighting, and having the eye to capture and tell the story.
As far as glass goes I have an assortment of E-Mount lenses in my kit. My primary "run and gun" lens is the Sony 28-135mm. The other Sony lenses I run with are the 16-35mm and the 100-400mm. I also have a set of Sigma primes (35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 135mm). I usually work with LED lighting such as Nanlites and Lite Panels. I also have a motorized slider, Ronin S4 Pro, and DJI Mavic Pro 2 in my kit.
Given all of my experience as DP on Fixer Upper, Flip or Flop: Ft. Worth, and countless other HGTV shows I think it's safe to say I have my PHD in Home Renovation Shows. But my specialty is that I can do it all. My specialty is telling stories through captivating lighting and composition. My style is the ability to adapt to the client's style.
I have been shooting professionally since 2006. However, I've basically been working with cameras and shooting since the sixth grade. The first camera I ever shot on was the old family RCA VHS camcorder. The first camera I ever bought was a Sony HI-8 camera. Personally I own the Sony A74. What can I say? I love cameras.
I really did enjoy working on Fixer Upper. I learned a lot from the experience and made a couple life long friends. I've been on too many cool shoots to remember them all. Honorable mentions go to literally any NASCAR shoot, every Wrestlemania I've been to, walking the bowels of the Pentagon with Jesse Ventura, flying to Poland for Turner, and shooting an EPK with Post Malone in NYC.
