Two Camera LiveU Live Show Shoot in Phoenix, Arizona

Two Camera LiveU Live Show Shoot in Phoenix, Arizona

TL;DR

A three day live show in Phoenix with an FX9, an FX3 and a LiveU feed to the control room. Carlos Martinez on camera.

Client and talent, Kayy, were both happy. For a live show running across three days, that is about the best review a camera and audio team can get.

Assignment Desk covered the Up and Adam live show in Phoenix, Arizona. Carlos Martinez worked as camera operator and Jesse handled audio. The primary camera was a Sony FX9, with a Sony FX3 as the secondary. Footage went out by LiveU rather than being recorded and handed off, so everything the crew set was going straight to the control room in real time. There is no second pass on a live feed, which puts the pressure on framing, levels and signal stability from the first moment the show goes up.

Set dressing was simple and worked for the format. Two counter height chairs put the host and guest at a natural eye line for a talk driven show, and the audio operator brought three additional stick mics beyond the base package. That kind of preparation is easy to overlook in a crew list but it is exactly what keeps a live show moving when a segment adds a voice at short notice.

If you are producing a live show that needs a camera operator, an audio operator and a clean feed to a control room, Assignment Desk can crew it. We can also advise on camera pairing before the booking, so the sync question gets settled ahead of the show rather than during it.
