Shooting for ESPN at the Boca Raton Resort and Club plus interviewing NFL Coaches and General Managers — what else could I ask for? Add in being able to work with our Denver DP Ryan Dumville and you get the perfect shoot.

The topics for discussion during the interviews were based on rule changes that affect NFL teams and the NFL as a whole. I really enjoyed shooting the interviews with Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett.

Since we were shooting in an empty conference room, our producer brought in various elements that we used to set up the background.  From reflective ceiling panels to blinds to glass light fixtures, it was our job to choose what we wanted to work with and then artfully arrange and light them in order to create a background that complimented our subject. We shot all footage on the F5 with 85mm and the F55 with 50mm Canon glass.

Since you always have to test your shot, we jumped in front of the lens and channeled our inner NFL coach at a post game press conference.  Even though the cameras love us, we’ll stick to staying behind the lens.
