Go To Team | Winter Is Coming

“We go out while you stay in” That’s the mantra here at Go To Team. We go out into the freezing rain, 70 mph winds, and hail with The Weather Channel to keep you informed and safe.

Our New York cameraman, Reid Petro, recently partnered with The Weather Channel to help cover two of the biggest storms in the northeast: winter storm Riley and Hurricane Sylar. It is exciting, it is adventurous, and it is COLD. We love it though! It gives us great pride to be reporting on the storms that no one necessarily wants to be in.

“Some of the stories are heartbreaking, others are inspiring, and all of these stories need to be told. It gives me great honor to help bring those stories to the world.” – Reid Petro

Not only do we cover the storms live as they’re happening, but we also do segments on the surrounding communities. We talk with the people who live in the affected communities to get their unique stories and perspectives. IMG_0740-1

For both storms, we used the Panasonic HDX-900 with a rain cover. We also used our trusty LiveU unit to capture and feed the footage live to The Weather Channel.

It’s never easy working in these tough conditions, The Weather Channel never sugar-coats it, but it’s ALWAYS worth it! To read more on the latest storm, visit The Weather Channel!
