On September 18th I teamed up with Turner Sports to shoot on the fly interviews and B-Roll film at the third annual Hall of Fame game held at the Field of Dreams. The field was the exact location that the classic film, Field of Dreams, was filmed at in Dyersville, Iowa.

All proceeds of the event benefited the Dubuque-based Tri-State Independent Blind Society, an organization that helps people with visual impairments improve their independence and quality of life. Those that attended were able to give back while having the opportunity to see baseball legends up close and personal.

I interviewed some of baseball’s all-time greatest players including Wade Boggs, Andre Dawson, Jose Canseco, and Reggie Jackson. The interviews were for a piece on Dwight “Doc” Gooden that will air during TBS’s postseason baseball coverage.

The former players talked about what it was like to face Doc Gooden on the field during his prime years. They also discussed some of Doc’s accomplishments. At only 20 years old, during his second season in the pros – Doc earned a Cy Young Award – given annually to the best pitchers in Major League Baseball.

I shot B-Roll of the baseball game that was played on the Field of Dreams and the autograph signings that followed afterwards.

Many of the Hall of Fame players in attendance for the event had never been to the Field of Dreams before, making the occasion even more remarkable. The event was so meaningful to some fans and players that they went and took corn from the stalks in the outfield as a keepsake.
