Assigned to travel to Austin, TX is always fun for me since it’s an easy drive and an entertaining city. This particular shoot was at a local SAMS Club covering their use of a new digital tool, the Club Pick-Up service.
Basically, you do all your shopping online then go to the store and pick it up. For busy bees like myself, who live on the road, this is a convenient service to learn about.
I shot on the C300 with a trusty 24-70 L-Series lens for this while shooting a handful of interviews with management of the local Sam’s Club and the associates of the Club Pick-Up department.
Since we were there well before the store opened, we had a full run of the store to find some good backgrounds. To add just a punch of light on our subject I used a LED Lite Panel Flood, but other than that it was all store lights. The C300 handled all of the lighting amazingly and provided me some great falloff for the backgrounds.
Once all of the interviews were done we wrapped the day by getting broll of our interviewees performing their daily tasks, signage around the store and even associate/customer interactions.
