Description Karen Prior began her performance career as a teenage actress and model in a time when formal protections for performers did not exist. Those early experiences shaped her lifelong commitment to safe, transparent, and respectful creative environments. Today, she combines decades of on-set experience with specialized training in consent, communication, and trauma-conscious practice as an Intimacy Coordinator. She has completed the IDC Professionals Intimacy Professional Accelerator Program and is working toward Beginner and Intermediate Diplomas through Theatrical Intimacy Education. Drawing on her dual background in performance and birth work, including her experience as a certified birth doula, Karen brings a uniquely empathetic and informed perspective to intimacy coordination. Her understanding of vulnerability, boundaries, and bodily safety makes her especially skilled at advocating for actors and supporting them through hyper-exposed or emotionally intense performances. Karen provides intimacy coordination, script consultation, and workshops for performers and creative teams. Serving productions in Austin, Texas, and beyond, she brings informed, compassionate guidance to ensure that scenes of intimacy, vulnerability, and human connection are portrayed with both realism and respect. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA.
