About Jevata

I am a licensed Cosmetologist wand Cosmetology Instructor with over 33 years in the beauty industry. I started behind the chair as a nail technician and hairstylist at 16 years old. I later worked in theater as a Department Head for Redemption Productions, where I developed characters, for hired teams, and sourced supplies for the show 4/2007 - 8/2009. I led and worked in both hair and makeup for these productions in Richmond, Va. I have experience with period hair, textured hair, cornrows, hair color, and modern hair. I worked on "Turn", and "Golden" filmed here in Richmond both featuring period hair. Most recently, I attended the South Carolina Film Commission TV/Film Hairstyling Workshop taught by Joyce Gilliard. I also have attended " Texture on Set", 2024, and 2025, created to elevate textured hair styling on set. I am passionate about the beauty industry and consistently pursuing ways to develop and impact the craft.
