Brian Kahn is a writer, director, producer, creative director, video editor, and musician with more than three decades of experience across broadcast television, digital media, and brand storytelling. He began his television career in the 1990s, cutting his teeth in the world of sitcoms as a writers’ assistant on The Golden Girls, before going on to write sitcoms for NBC, Paramount, and UPN. Working in a pre-digital, analog broadcast era shaped a strong storytelling foundation built on sharp jokes, clear structure, fast collaboration, and immovable deadlines — instincts that continue to guide his work today. Brian went on to spend 21 years at FOX Entertainment, where he served as a senior creative force across network previews, promos, specials, and brand-integrated campaigns. Often operating as a one-stop creative, he wrote, directed, produced, edited, and oversaw post-production on high-profile projects, collaborating closely with on-air talent, showrunners, executives, editors, designers, and composers. Over the course of his career, he has directed and interviewed more than 150 celebrities, bringing a relaxed, conversational style that puts talent at ease while delivering authentic, usable content. His creative range spans scripted comedy and drama, unscripted formats, animation, sizzle reels, short-form digital and social content, and experiential pieces. Brian has extensive experience working in the behind-the-scenes space, directing first looks, on-set coverage, and social-forward content designed to feel immediate, candid, and story-driven. He excels at capturing moments that translate seamlessly across broadcast, streaming, and social platforms while aligning with brand tone and marketing strategy. Brian is particularly known for comedy-driven brand integration that feels organic, character-based, and story-first rather than overtly promotional. His long-standing experience in both scripted storytelling and marketing allows him to move fluidly between original IP development and execution within established brands. As a musician and working saxophonist, Brian brings a strong sense of rhythm, timing, and tone to his work. He regularly composes original music and jingles, integrating sound and storytelling to enhance pacing, emotion, and brand identity. His musical background directly informs his approach to editing, performance, and comedic timing. Brian is also an experienced video editor, working primarily in Adobe Premiere Pro, with a strong command of pacing, structure, music integration, and performance-driven cutting. Editing his own material allows for tighter creative control from concept through final delivery and efficient collaboration in fast-moving production environments. Technically fluent and creatively adaptable, Brian is comfortable working across traditional broadcast workflows as well as modern remote and hybrid production pipelines. Now working as a freelance vendor, he is available for writing, directing, producing, editing, creative strategy, brand integration, original music composition, celebrity interviews, behind-the-scenes content, and development of original IP. He brings a seasoned, collaborative presence, a sharp comedic voice, and deep institutional knowledge of television from the 1990s through today.
