About Megan
Megan Leonard (she/her) is a producer and festival programmer based in Seattle, WA. She has produced multiple award-winning shorts which have premiered at festivals around the globe. Her short MIXTAPE MARAUDERS premiered at Aspen Shortsfest in 2017 and continued on to screen at prestigious festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs and Raindance. The film was released online as a Vimeo Staff Pick Premiere and went on to be nominated for Vimeo’s Best Comedy of the Year 2018. Additionally the film was awarded Short of the Week’s 2019 Best Comedy of the Year and was a 2019 Webby Honoree. Leonard attended the 2019 Sundance Creative Producing Summit and 2020 Sundance Talent Forum with the feature adaptation. In 2010 Leonard started working for film festivals and is currently the head Programmer for New American Cinema and ShortsFest at Seattle International Film Festival. She has also programmed for Indie Memphis, DOC NYC, and Cucalorus, served as a mentor at SXSW and Film Independent Forum, and on juries at Fantastic Fest, Cleveland International Film Festival and Sound Unseen.
