Miami, FL- Director of Photography – Derrick Butler

About Derrick

  • What Camera and Equipment have you worked with most?
My camera package primarily consists of the Sony F55, Sony fs5 and A7s. I have shot with other cameras such as Sony Fx9, C300, Arri Alexa Mini, BM URSA Mini and BM Pocket 6k. My current lighting package includes Astra LitePanels, Nanlite Forza 300s and 60s, PAVO tubes and ARRI 150s.
  • Do you specialize in any shoot style?
I always love being a part of sport or run and gun style shoots. But I am ready to be a camera swiss army knife for any client that may call. Whether it may be throwing me into a hurricane or on a sideline, I’m your guy.
  • How long have you been filming?
My career started in Portland, ME 4 years ago working collegiate level sports and narrative film. I now find myself in the South working with amazing companies and projects.
  • Do you have a favorite project you’ve worked on?
I’ve had the pleasure of working with many companies such as ESPN, Overtime, Magnolia, Turner Sports, Macys and more. But my most recent favorite was filming the Riverfront Revival music festival with Julia Cole and Darius Rucker for Circle TV.
