ESPN has always taken time to highlight coaches who are not only passionate about the game, but who genuinely care about the community around them. Assignment Desk recently teamed up with ESPN and Jolly Roger Images in Boca Raton, Florida to interview Lane Kiffin.

Kiffin has a long-standing football coaching career. He was the head coach of the National Football League’s Oakland Raiders (from 2007 to 2008), head coach of the University of Tennessee Volunteers football team (in 2009), and head coach of the Trojans (from 2010 to 2013). When he began coaching the Oakland Raiders, he was considered the youngest head coach in modern NFL history. Kiffin is currently the coach of the Florida Atlantic University football team.

The interview was set up as a live shot with beach scenics and palm trees as a backdrop. The interview took place in the morning from the terrace at the Boca Beach Resort. We can say that the sunrise did not disappoint.

For lighting, our crew utilized standard three-point lighting set up including gels. This helped create the look and feel that ESPN was hoping for. The networks love these beautiful Florida Ocean and Palm Tree backgrounds during the winter months to help make the shot more appealing.
