The Coke 600 hit CLT on May 27th and with it came a run and gun shoot for CMT Insider. The goal was to document Tim McGraw and his tour sponsor, Pennzoil Racing, as well as Tim announcing the driver intros before the race. Equipped with the HVX-200, Craig and I reported to the infield track to set up for the interview. We set up a 4x silk and a 400 HMI and before we knew it we had Ol’ Timmy in front of the lens for the interview. We were also joined by A.J.Allmendinger driver of the #22 Dodge Pennzoil machine. After some sponsorship talk between A.J. and Tim, we headed to the start/finish line. Once there I was off shooting b-roll and and basically anything that said “racing.” Tim took to the stage to introduce the the last top 10 drivers and then I immediately hoofed to pit road to shoot A.J. and Tim signing the hood of a car. Tim and A.J. are huge supporters of our service man and women, so the hood was given to a wounded veteran that is hoping to be able to drive again. A true honor!
Sweat in the eyes and under a time crunch but got all that was needed in the end. Ready for the next day at the track!
