From peewee to high school, from college to pro – football in Texas really is bigger. Sports Illustrated has been highlighting football in cities and states across the country and we were lucky enough for them to call us to help highlight Texas.

Peewee Football in Texas

We started at peewee football game in Irving, TX. What do the coaches have to say about the boys? “They’re just having fun.” And what do the boys have to say about the game? “I asked my mom if I can play football for all my life.”

High School Football in Texas

Friday night lights means something different in Euless, TX. We covered a Trinity High School football game where they ended up defeating their opponent. The students, the cheerleaders, the stadium – “so that’s kind of how Friday nights go around here.”

College Football in Texas

“Fear the Frog” was the name of the game for Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX. We got to tailgate with die-hard fans, ranging in age from 1 to 100. Fans consider TCU tailgating to be a sport in its own right.

Pro Football in Texas

Then there’s the Dallas Cowboys. They eat sleep and breathe football. It’s called America’s team for a reason. People from all over the world came to watch the game we attended. The atmosphere was electric – fans, cheerleaders, tailgating, and victory.

The camera and audio operators we crewed for this shoot had a blast documenting Texas football culture. Thanks for having us Sports Illustrated! What city/state will you guys cover next?
