“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Christel House takes this motto to heart. We had the pleasure of working with them in South Africa and India for a recent shoot.

Christel House is a global children’s charity. They work hard to transform the lives of children who were born into poverty so they do not have to continue that cycle for the rest of their lives. They help these children fight hunger, malnutrition, disease, low self-esteem and lack of opportunity. They do this by focusing on the “whole child,” meaning they don’t just feed and clothe them, but try and raise them up and out of the impoverished lifestyle through education, career planning and family assistance.

We had a director of photography and a still photographer on both of these shoots. The first one was in Capetown, South Africa and the second was in Bangladore, India. We shot interviews of students and teachers and tried to capture footage that showed the struggle of overcoming poverty. We love being able to connect with our international clients like Christel House on inspiring shoots like these.
