Assignment Desk teamed up with the Golf Channel to honor the late, great Arnold Palmer. His name can be recognized by any generation, whether it be for his golf legacy or his iconic beverage.

Palmer was nicknamed “The King” during his golf days because he was the first golf star of the sport’s television age. During his career he won seven major championships – four Masters, one US Open and two Open Championships. He also won the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award and was one of the 13 original inductees into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Palmer was more than his golf career. He was incredibly caring and giving and founded the Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation that provides support to organizations that help children. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal. His grandson, Sam Saunders, is a professional golfer, so in more ways than one, his legacy lives on.

Our camera operator and audio operator worked with the Golf Channel at the Latrobe Country Club in Latrobe, PA. We filmed several live hits, interviews and some B-roll.
